Mollie Young to Department of Environmental Quality

DENR DEQ signRALEIGH – Mollie Young, House Speaker Tim Moore’s communications director, will be leaving her post for a new role as the director of legislative and intergovernmetnal affairs under Secretary Donald van der Vaart at the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality.  Caroline Daly, a legislative assistant at DEQ, is being promoted to deputy director of legislative affairs.

Young served in the Speaker’s office for more than a year, handling media relations through the marathon-long session and most recently the special session called to redraw and pass the new congressional district map.

She replaces Matt Dockham, who recently left DEQ to become a lobbyist for Appalachian State University.
