N.C. GOP’s interim executive director resigns

NCGOP-LogoRALEIGH – Karen Langham, the N.C. GOP’s interim executive director, has submitted her resignation to party Chairman Hasan Harnett. Langham worked for the party as accounting director for 17 years and most recently filled in for former executive director Todd Poole after his last day on August 31. Langham is the third top-level N.C. GOP staff member to resign over the last 30 days – finance director Kristen Laster and Poole both resigned in August.

Langham gave the Central Committee and party leadership her two weeks notice today, saying only that she would be pursuing other opportunities. The Central Committee has been hard at work examining resumes to permanently fill the executive director spot now that Poole has accepted a Washington, D.C. position as U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson’s chief of staff.  Hudson represents North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District.
