Legislators pass CR… again

LB from NNERALEIGH – This morning the General Assembly passed its third Continuing Resolution this session to keep state government funded. The new deadline for passing a final budget is now September 18.

Eager to quell growing criticism for the protracted session, lawmakers hope to pass the budget before Labor Day, then wrap up final details of the session shortly after.

The details still up in the air are a heavy lift though.  Medicaid reform and the JDIG economic development proposals have been topics of contention around the capital. And although progress seems to have been made on a Medicaid compromise, an agreement on a bond package, JDIG, and sales tax redistribution proposal seems further off.
