RALEIGH – House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Kings Mountain) will post half-yearly fundraising numbers topping the $400,000 mark on tomorrow’s campaign finance report deadline, Jones & Blount has learned from Jones Street insiders.
If he files as expected, showing $422,000 raised since January, Moore will have raised more than any other speaker in recent history. The report is expected to show his cash on hand at about at half a million dollars.
This is no easy feat, according to insiders, who point to Moore’s tight schedule as Speaker and the session that has consumed most of the summer. They say the numbers show his leadership approach is resonating with the House members and Republican supporters.
