Collier elevated to 8-year term at SBI

IMG_2268.JPGRALEIGH – Bernard W. (B. W.) Collier II has taken the oath of office to become the director of the State Bureau of Investigation.  Collier was previously the acting director of the SBI before Governor Pat McCrory nominated him to fill a full 8-year term at the helm.  He was unanimously confirmed by General Assembly Resolution 2015-5. Director Collier becomes the first SBI Director to be nominated by the Governor and confirmed by the General Assembly after the 2014 state budget transferred the SBI from the Office of the Attorney General to the Department of Public Safety.

BW_CollierThe ceremony was held attended by Collier’s family, Governor Pat McCrory and Department of Public Safety Secretary Frank Perry. The oath of office was administered by Wake County District Court Judge Ned Mangum in the Governor’s Office at the State Capital.
