RALEIGH – With the end of the fiscal year just over 24 hours away, Jones & Blount has learned that the House and Senate Appropriations Committee senior chairs are meeting this afternoon to hammer out final details on a continuing resolution to keep the government operating until a final budget is passed.
This comes after work on the CR appeared stalled last week. Multiple insiders say the negotiations nearly broke down when some members wanted to put education policy language in the legislation. The final CR will likely contain few, if any, policy points.
